The civil parish of Stretton is at the southern extremity of Warrington, Cheshire, and includes land to the south of the M56, known as Lower Stretton.

In order to describe the buildings and their occupants in detail, the village has been split into two as divided by the motorway. More details about the houses and other buildings in the village to the north of the M56 are found in Stretton and those to the south in Lower Stretton.

Information about the houses and key buildings around the village has come from many sources, particularly the census returns and talking to older members of the village over the years. This is very much work in progress so any comments or new information would be gratefully received.

In all cases, the name by which the building is now known follows the original name in parentheses, and no details of the present occupants has been included.
